Ultra Energy is opening a modernised and expanded Sellafield support facility this week to create a new Northern Area Hub in the UK. Having supplied Sellafield with nuclear safety systems for the last 40 years, the new Hub signals our commitment to the partnership, as well as to the fast-growing nuclear industry in the North of England.
Our goal for the development was to create a larger and more effective facility, expanding our regional support capabilities at the same time as creating a better experience for Sellafield team members who use it. In addition to comprehensive modernisation and transformed aesthetics, improvements include a new meeting room, kitchen and bar area, new toilets, a fully equipped training space and workstations for up to 10 staff. It also has a larger secure storage area to enable us to hold more stock locally.
Ognjen Starovic, President of Ultra Energy, is opening the site on 22 September at a launch event for all of our staff who will be based at the Hub and Sellafield team members who will benefit from its enhanced capabilities. “The new Hub will make a significant contribution to developing the working relationship between our organisations, enabling us to more effectively support Sellafield as it delivers its manifesto. As our Northern Area Hub, other programmes and staff will in time relocate to the facility, increasing the capabilities of our available resource.”
